January Week Two

For some of you, it was our first week back after the break, so welcome back!  I'm sure you're ready for a productive English-filled year.

This week our topic was etiquette and manners, the correct way to behave in different situations and how those rules can change depending on contexts. To get oriented, you may want to check out this website with Polite English Expressions.

LISTENING
To practice your listening skills, learners could try a listening exercise about manners at a business lunch. For a bit higher level try this fascinating information about manners from British Council.

READING
Learners can try reading an article about Good Manners, Bad Manners (also availble as a listening exercise).

WRITING
Are you ready to get back in the swing of things with writing? This week, please write about how you think you could raise children to be polite and courteous. Which are the most important things to teach them? How would you show them?
